The Story of the Hospital Log Cabin Terrain STL File
The thing that makes this STL file and 3d model so interesting, especially for me is that it's my first 3D model and STL file usually Dad does all the 3D models and STL Files while I'm busy running the website constantly learning how to market as well as drawing up basic schematics. So I am quite proud I'm able to start learning to 3D model myself So here it is my first model will be up as a terrain piece... Now believe it or not I didn't look up a tutorial on how to do this. This model is all me.
I've been drawing comics and designs for years so how I made this hut was think okay think about how I draw a house or a building in a comic. Same thing I'd use shapes different variety of shapes to draw my buildings, especially for my unique type buildings like a bad guys lair or something. So I thought okay same thing start with the shapes so I grabbed a cube mesh shrunk and flattened the top face and stretched it out on all sides for the Cabin floor. From there I used the Cylinder mesh and Duplicated all around the 4 sides for the walls shrinking a couple down for the two windows at the front and leaving the entry blank. Next was the roof framework and another flattened stretched cube mesh with the top and bottom faces removed.
then using the Solidify modifier that built the reinforced top then continuing then add the roof framework and more cylinders for the log roof.. though you can't see it I also added a fireplace in the interior. when I sent it to Dad he added the flag pole and chimney
I was beyond ecstatic when I saw the Cabin had 3D printed on the Resin printer perfectly. As soon as I had the chance I painted it so yep that's my painted work
